1953년 영국 웨일즈에서 출생한 그녀는 17살 때부터 영국 지방 클럽에서 노래를 시작했다고 합니다. 1976년 콤비 작곡가로 유명한 로니 스코프와 스티브 울프를 만나, 첫 데뷔 앨범 'The World Starts Tonight' 발표 하면서 유럽에서 주목받기 시작했고, 1977년 11월 발표한 싱글 앨범이 미국 블로드 챠트 3위까지 오르면서 이 때부터 인기가수의 대열에 올라서게 되었습니다.

 

청소년기 내 영혼을 지배했던 '보니 타일러' 허스한 보이스 칼라에서 뿜어나오는 폭팔적인 가창력, 그 시절 그녀는 나의 영웅 이었습니다.
