80년대 중반 디스코텍'(콜라텍? 나이트클럽)에서 디스코 타임이 끝나면 바로 이어졌던 '블루스 타임'의 명곡 락웰의 나이프입니다. 이 곡은 1984년 락웰의 처음이자 마지막 앨범 Somebody's Watching Me' 수록된 곡입니다. 

락웰은 1964년 미국 드트로이트에서 태어난 흑인 남자가수로 본명이 '케네디 월리엄 고디' 이고, 모타운 레코드의 사장 베리 고디 주니어의 아들입니다. 어려서 부터 그는 작사, 작곡, 편곡은 물론 여러악기들을 능숙하게 다루면서 음악의 준 천재로 불리기도 했었습니다. 

나이프 Knife는 미국에서는 큰 인기를 얻지못했지만, 우리나라의 발라드 감성과 잘 어우러지면서 폭팔적인 인기을 누리게 되었습니다.
